Just Me Ranting
The Epler Report:
Well, the Oscars are on. Does anyone with half a brain really care? I am just happy that the fat slob Michael Moore won't be getting one. I do not see the point of watching a bunch of worthless, half-witted, loony actors bash Bush and think they are the authority on foreign policy. Clint Eastwood, however, rocks! Well, I digress....
I watched a little of "Meet the Press" today, and Russert had columnists from the NY Times on and they were discussing Iraq. William Saffire, who I kind of like, brought up some interesting information. The elections in Afghanistan and Iraq have resonated throughout the Middle East. Now we had an election in Palestine which may finally help pave the may for peace with Israel. We have Egypt where there may be the growth of the very first opposition political party in 50 years. Lebanon may have there own democratic election soon as well. Of course there is Iran which has a growing pro-democracy dissident movement fueled by a youthful population and the success in Iraq. That certainly has the mullahs shaking in their turbans. Even Saudi Arabia is considering allowing women to vote in hopes that it will be enough to quench the growing thirst for freedom and democracy across the deserts of the Middle East. Now I wonder why the mainstream media refuses to report these historic developments? Of course the floozy Maureen Dowd just kept insisting that Bush lied and people died for no reason and we outsourced torture, blah, blah, blah. I wish that dude would shut up....wait maybe that was a woman....?.... whatever.
Nothing angers me more than the left-wing nut jobs in this country blasting and disrespecting the military. For instance, a snot nose punk at the University of Massachusetts wrote an article in the campus newspapers disrespecting our troops. He stated that he rips off "Support Your Troops" magnets whenever he sees them on cars. He flatly declared that he does not support the troops and that you cannot support the troops and disagree with the Iraq War or politicians that agree with it. This worthless kid that has never even stepped foot in the real world thinks he knows more than anyone else. He has never had to struggle for anything in his life and he takes for granted the freedoms and advantages he has been given because of the brave Americans who serve their country. Soldiers fought, and spilled their blood, so that this child can abuse his freedom of speech to say something stupid like that. What a waste. But, then what do you expect from the People's Republic of Massachusetts.
A few words for Ward Churchill.... Seek mental help! You are a megalomaniac, a psychopath, and all around slime ball (not to mention pathological liar)...... If you do not remember who this loser is, he is the Colorado professor that compared 9-11 victims to Nazis. Put that scumbag in a room full of 9-11 victim family members and let him rant (no cameras in the room) lets see if he walks out of that one smiling.
All and all I must say I am in a good mood despite the crumbling of American society due to the constant assault from the left waged by the ACLU. They and other groups continue to undermine our war efforts, national security, and law enforcement while pushing their socialist agendas and trying to destroy Christianity. Of course the goal of the ACLU from the beginning was communism
When will the media do its job? We need an independent media watchdog to look out for the American people. Instead we have a heavy liberal media bias putting themselves directly into the Democrats’ pockets while furthering their own social agendas. Of course all the while you have both parties fooling the "sheeple" of the country and pulling the wool over their eyes. We need a viable third party to challenge the status quo in Washington and force them to deal with the obvious responsibilities they should be handling but aren't, such as SECURE THE BORDERS! We need to protect our country and preserve our culture or this nation will fall.
Please take a look at the Fair Tax Plan. I have a link to FairTax.org, just click on "more links". It is a great idea that would benefit everyone. It eliminates payroll taxes and replaces it with a national retail sales tax of less than 20%. You keep 100% of your paycheck, no taxes taken out at all. Prices would go down because businesses would no longer have to pay income taxes or file mountains of paperwork. Jobs would be created as companies would invest in America. We would become the greatest place in the world to do business because companies would have no income taxes to pay. Illegal immigrants would be paying taxes every time they bought groceries. There are so many positive aspects to this plan, I cannot do it justice. This idea has been formulated over the past 20 or so years and every major economist has said it would create substantial growth in the economy. This is a voluntary tax where the more you buy the more you pay in taxes, so the poorest of families would benefit the most as they would receive all the pay they earn and get a monthly rebate for basic necessities of life, as would everyone. The IRS, the largest bureaucratic monster in government would be eliminated. Anyway, I know this is boring so I will just drop it for now. All I ask is that you folks learn some more about it and consider it. It will only become a reality if a ground swell of support appears from the people that forces power hungry politicians to finally listen to their constituents.
Bush can't do anything right. First they complained he was insensitive and "too much of a cowboy". Now they are complaining he was not tough enough with Putin and Russia over the sale of nuclear fuel to Iran. Why can't they make up their minds?
We need to start paying attention in our hemisphere. Hugo Chavez and his cronies are gearing up. He wants to create a "Bolivian Army" to counter "American Imperialism". He is supporting communist factions throughout Latin America and we better start looking south for trouble because the terrorists down there still have not handed over all those shoulder fired anti-aircraft missiles. It may not be as scary as Iran with nukes, but tell that to Americans in a commercial liner that may get hit with one of those missiles.
Wow, this rant got a little out of hand. I better get some rest and simmer down for a while. I hope it was as good for you as it was for me.

20% Tax Idea:
The 20% tax seems very interesting, but would services
be taxed? Lets take an example: "Bob" works as a
construction laborer and he gets paid as an
independent contractor so the company doesn't have to
pay for benefits. Would he be able to charge a 20% tax
on his services? If he would the cost would be passed
on to the home buyer, raising the cost of a home 20%.
Another thing to think about is a $25,000 car would
cost $5,000 in taxes not to mention the cost of
plates. The auto industry would almost be at a
standstill. People would get laid off everywhere and
businesses would hire $10.00 an hour employees at
$7.00 an hour now, to compensate for the 20% increase
in health care cost and supplies (paper, computers,
uniforms, and so on) Those employees making $7.00 an
hour would have to pay a 20% tax on electricity and
food...so on. The cost of living would skyrocket. What
about the taxes you pay on your home? Would somebody
with a $100,000 house have to pay $20,000 a year in
taxes? If so at 7.75% interest payment a house would
cost about $2600.00 a month. Owning a house with an
unskilled job would be impossible. What about the
government? they would have to pay 20% more for
airplanes, bombs, tanks, and so on. They would get
about the same revenue but now have a lot higher cost.
I do think the idea is good, but if you increase the
cost of items you would decrease the standard of
living. Just my 2 cents and that's all I got...I’m
broke.
I am not an expert on the every detail of the Fair Tax plan. If you visit www.fairtax.org they will probably have all the information you require. The 20% is an old figure that keeps getting revised downward. I just say 20% as a conservative estimate. In actuality I believe the number has been downgraded as far as 17% or lower That number is also just the beginning transition rate neccessary to maintain current government spending. The fact of the matter is, you are already paying this tax. Businesses and corporations do not pay taxes, the consumer does. The taxes that they must pay are passed along to you in the price of the goods and services you buy. This would simply make the tax code easy to understand and transparent. The costs of the paperwork and bureaucracies in place now would be eliminated and thus the cost of most products and services would actually go down. To be honest I do not have a comprehensive list of the services that would be taxed under this plan, nor do I have all the answers to your questions. I simply do not have all the data in front of me. Visit the Fair Tax Plan website and read the actual bill that will eventually be brought forward to Congress if you want all your questions answered. All I know is that this plan has been developed over the past 20 years and the most renowned economists in the world have all said that it would create dramatic growth in our economy. The fact is, jobs would be created because companies would not have to pay income tax. It would stop companies from outsourcing and foreign investors would build plants or otherwise invest in America because they would not have to pay income taxes. I dispute your claim that pay would decrease as there would be no need for that because of the elimination of the payroll and income taxes. Cost of living would not be increased and the poorest and unskilled workers would benefit the most as they would get 100% of their paycheck. NO PAYROLL TAX WHATSOEVER. They would also be getting a monthly rebate for basic neccessities of life. So the "poor" would actually be paying no taxes if they limited their spending to only what they needed. Anyway I am covering the same ground I did in the original post, so I guess I better shut up. Do some research before you posts next time sir, so I do not have to repeat myself. I am actually surprised that out of that entire post someone picked the boring old tax issue to comment about. I thought that one would put people to sleep.
Hey I found your site through one of my friends xangas I was curious ass to which branch you served in. I personally am going in to the Marines. I had not heard of all that about the elections before now it was very enlightening. I think that guy at The Univ of Mass is just stupid, he has prob spent his entire life in a school Environment and will do nothing but reap the benifits of our brave men and women that have and will give their lives for our great country, now i'll admit it does have its faults , but what doesnt. Well i shal stop rambling now. You can leave me a comment on my xanga it's imlileinstein
Thank you for your comments Robbie. I served in the US Army for about four and a half years. I was in field artillery and my rank was SGT/E-5. Best of luck to you in the Corps. I have nothing against the Marines, they are some of our best and I enjoyed working with them whenever we operated in the same areas. I hope you visit my site regularly and keep me updated on your career in the military. I would be happy to offer any advice I can if you have any questions or concerns.
